The present day park once formed part of a 12th century Cistercian abbey and its estate. After the Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1536, the land and buildings began a slow transformation into a country house estate, owned first by the Talbot and later the Savile families.

Park Stables & Saddlery is a family run business which has been
trading since 1969. 2008 is our 38th year.
Our business is split into three areas: high quality bed & breakfast accommodation,
a BHS and ABRS approved riding and training centre, and a well stocked saddlery
and country wear shop. As well as offering daily riding instruction, we are able
to tailor packages of tuition and accommodation to suit your requirements.
We are located in the picturesque village of Wellow, in the heart of Nottinghamshire.
We are close to both the A616, A614 and A1.
Wellow Park Stables & Saddlery is set within gardens and paddocks of approximately
12 acres, with off road access to another 100 acres of farmland - ideal for those
wishing to come on holiday with their own horse.
